I GOT it!

So remember how I've been talking about getting a Macbook for a whillllleeeeee, well I finally just did it. I did decide on the new Aluminum version and feel as though I made a good choice. I'm also very excited to have Photoshop CS4 now because honestly I still has CS2.because I am a student and bought a computer from apple I got a great deal on it! I can not wait to get everything set-up and running, not having a god computer to edit on has really been slowing me down tremendously and I would recommend getting a new computer as soon as possible if that is a problem you are having. This is my first Mac and first Laptop so I'm going to have all kinds of fun yay! Let's get this party started.
P.S.- this also means posts faster because I can actually edit in a timely manner!

The AAASP Varsity Championships!

I just got home from photographing the AAASP Varsity Championships at Gwinnett Arena, and it was amazing! The Wolfpack defeated the Wolverines in a close game. It was a big event that PBS filmed and it will be on your local GA PBS station tomorrow (Sat March, 14, 2009) at 9:30 A.M. (EST). It was a great game that I believe you'll enjoy watching it plus there's a good chance you'll see me running around taking pictures! It was a great experience shooting in a large stadium and trying to maneuver around camera crews, I will post a link to the pictures in a couple days once their uploaded to the site. I hope you enjoy watching the game, I know I can't wait to see it on T.V.!

A fellow graduate!

So I turned in my final business plan for my entrepreneurship class and I am exhausted. Anyways during my research I was looking for photographers that would be in competition to the field I plan on getting into and John remembered there was a Fine Art Photographer who graduated from Gwinnett Tech a while back. I got his name and looked up Robert Jones Photography, and I was amazed. He predominately does B&W photographs and they are beautiful. It's great to see a photographer that is still dedicated to B&W photography. It was also nice to see somebody successful in selling Fine art Photographs online and at Festivals (exactly what I plan on doing).

For my Granddad!

I recently went down to Florida to visit my Grandparent's and while I was down there I delivered A picture my Granddad bought from me after he viewed my portfolio, last time they came up to see us. It's the little girl on the fence picture(my header) and it's his absolute favorite because of the composure, mood and scene. He was so excited when I gave it to him and put it up right away!

It's great to have so much support and encouragement from my family. I feel truly blessed.

mmmmm... a new lens!

Recently I've been shooting a LOT of sports indoors for Adapted sports. During that time I've realized how much I dislike my 18-135 lens. It was cheap and only went down to 5.6 witch we all know is not good for bad lighting inside gyms At ALL. So I recently purchased the Sigma 17-70 2.8 and luckily it came in before my big shoot last weekend and I got to use it! I really enjoy it and am very pleased with my purchase. I'm also excited it has macro, and have been playing with that a lot also. Len's are very important to a photographer and the sooner you get the one's you really need the better.

Yay point and shoots!

For Christmas this year I got a point and shoot camera, I was so excited!
I've used it so much for everything, it's great to have a camera I don't have to worry about taking a big expensive camera around to places. Also I can simply put it in my pocket or purse. So I would recommend a point and shoot for any photographer, to be able to take fun pictures and also have a camera to take behind the scenes pictures at your photo shoots.
