I did decide on the new <a href="http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook?mco=MTE3MzM">Aluminum version</a> and feel as though I made a good choice. I'm also very excited to have <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/">Photoshop CS4</a> now because honestly I still has CS2.because I am a student and bought a computer from apple I got a great deal on it! I can not wait to get everything set-up and running, not having a god computer to edit on has really been slowing me down tremendously and I would recommend getting a new computer as soon as possible if that is a problem you are having. This is my first Mac and first Laptop so I'm going to have all kinds of fun yay! Let's get this party started.</div><div>P.S.- this also means posts faster because I can actually edit in a timely manner!</div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-77197318166018769862009-03-19T14:03:00.002-07:002009-03-19T14:20:23.900-07:00Wheelchair Basketball!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF4bxOuXR5C8QvHxSikWUIEooM-my6WEf_Qfux3aJjl1jfzmi9Uo_rU4RTDxwgjbh7DfQNwPxGZlKsVtdIkRpMaGYMhHKygAj48LT9-MNVTN_JPGD-WuOaCuDf0llSCabE7InY7THqYLA/s1600-h/02_28_09web.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315008234067373666" style="WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 266px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF4bxOuXR5C8QvHxSikWUIEooM-my6WEf_Qfux3aJjl1jfzmi9Uo_rU4RTDxwgjbh7DfQNwPxGZlKsVtdIkRpMaGYMhHKygAj48LT9-MNVTN_JPGD-WuOaCuDf0llSCabE7InY7THqYLA/s400/02_28_09web.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>The 2008 wheelchair basketball season is officially over and I loved getting to capture all of the <a href="http://www.adaptedsports.org/adaptedsports/gallery/gallery.html">amazing moments</a> throughout the season. The Wolfpack defeated the Wolverines in a close game. It was a big event that PBS filmed and it will be on your local <a href="http://www.gpb.org/broadcastschedule">GA PBS station</a> tomorrow (Sat March, 14, 2009) at 9:30 A.M. (EST). It was a great game that I believe you'll enjoy watching it plus there's a good chance you'll see me running around taking pictures! It was a great experience shooting in a large stadium and trying to maneuver around camera crews, I will post a link to the pictures in a couple days once their uploaded to the site. I hope you enjoy watching the game, I know I can't wait to see it on T.V.!Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-60155047715196943702009-03-11T20:44:00.002-07:002009-03-11T20:58:29.526-07:00A fellow graduate!<a href="http://www.robertjonesphotography.com/"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 571px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 328px" alt="" src="http://www.artisphere.us/images/va09/lg/Jones.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="http://www.robertjonesphotography.com/"></a><br /><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>So I turned in my final business plan for my entrepreneurship class and I am exhausted. Anyways during my research I was looking for photographers that would be in competition to the field I plan on getting into and John remembered there was a Fine Art Photographer who graduated from Gwinnett Tech a while back. I got his name and looked up <a href="http://www.robertjonesphotography.com/">Robert Jones Photography</a>, and I was amazed. He predominately does B&W photographs and they are beautiful. It's great to see a photographer that is still dedicated to B&W photography. It was also nice to see somebody successful in selling Fine art Photographs online and at Festivals (exactly what I plan on doing). </div><div> </div></div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-22986183913762726452009-03-09T08:21:00.009-07:002009-03-09T08:37:05.523-07:00For my Granddad!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzKdEZsoqmwNir1mUZFZgmZ2AykifErxjRxGEljavZYxm4ZcbhppkTd6DXF9M9Ec7lxQ45DLxvOOuA5yVDvwl9SuSHtHLPtGq2k12voknFK33DbCRuaKMr_TlAJyeD5tPjaNYUU50pgpk/s1600-h/family+002.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5311210988059626946" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzKdEZsoqmwNir1mUZFZgmZ2AykifErxjRxGEljavZYxm4ZcbhppkTd6DXF9M9Ec7lxQ45DLxvOOuA5yVDvwl9SuSHtHLPtGq2k12voknFK33DbCRuaKMr_TlAJyeD5tPjaNYUU50pgpk/s320/family+002.jpg" border="0" /></a>I recently went down to Florida to visit my Grandparent's and while I was down there I delivered A picture my Granddad bought from me after he viewed my portfolio, last time they came up to see us. During that time <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">I've</span> realized how much I dislike my 18-135 lens. It was cheap and only went down to 5.6 witch we all know is not good for bad lighting inside gyms At ALL. So I recently purchased the <a href="http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/514741-REG/Sigma_689_306_17_70mm_f_2_8_4_5_DC_Macro.html">Sigma 17-70 2.8</a> and luckily it came in before my big shoot last weekend and I got to use it! I really enjoy it and am very pleased with my purchase. I'm also excited it has macro, and have been playing with that a lot also. Len's are very important to a photographer and the sooner you get the one's you really need the better.</div></div></div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-72188276546094562072009-03-07T11:51:00.002-07:002009-03-07T12:25:11.657-07:00Yay point and shoots!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgdiTVgIpZKqeSLmng5ff1tljVT4qO8Ht3uPDCVWA7TeyKFjqKOyzelSyO0LZQn_yVi3AXjZCxk_bQ-TiXPmW5B0HLQGm5Zs8TPsffcFjZW1jqJLouGx5ymxGu84uJalCkdiqj9DflIUk/s1600-h/Christmas08+005.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5310521563132515234" style="WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgdiTVgIpZKqeSLmng5ff1tljVT4qO8Ht3uPDCVWA7TeyKFjqKOyzelSyO0LZQn_yVi3AXjZCxk_bQ-TiXPmW5B0HLQGm5Zs8TPsffcFjZW1jqJLouGx5ymxGu84uJalCkdiqj9DflIUk/s400/Christmas08+005.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>For Christmas this year I got a point and shoot camera, I was so excited!</div><div>I've used it so much for everything, it's great to have a camera I don't have to worry about taking a big expensive camera around to places. Yes those are drunk Santa's! Last year I was in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Buckhead</span> with a friend of mine going out to dinner and we saw this line of Santa's bar hoping so what do we do, we go to my car get my camera and start hanging out with them. Some were a little inappropriate but I think I got some really cool shots. For one they even set me up on the bar to photograph them and they loved the attention. Turns out they were a group of Rugby players that does this every year to celebrate the holidays. This image almost m<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">ade</span> it to my portfolio but we decided it was a little too crude. It was absolutely amazing! <a href="http://www.studioburns.com/">Jerry Burns</a> and <a href="http://www.studioburns.com/">Guy Welch</a>. They do all kinds of work from commercial shots to model shoots. One thing I really loved about working there was they really are a family and we just so welcoming. Jerry is also head of the Photography department at <a href="http://www.portfoliocenter.com/">Portfolio Center</a> and I think it was really cool that's where most of his assistants have come from throughout the years. Over-all it was an amazing experience and I learned so much. Lets see I became amazing at getting coffee and lunch not to mention studio up-keep, but of course I also got to do fun stuff like help with lighting and I learned a lot about client customer relations. I met some AMAZING people and wouldn't trade that experience for the world.</div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-20522410969146310912008-12-09T14:26:00.001-07:002008-12-09T14:28:02.864-07:00Me Mounting!<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bIrlmWeUwGg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bIrlmWeUwGg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br />This is a little video I did for fun while mounting some pictures people bought from me before I framed them. This was a picture Demetrius took of me while we were out shooting, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Ok</span> so one of the cameras is his, yes the Cannon. To a lot of people it looks silly to have two cameras on you, but after being in a photo journalistic situation you realize changing your lens during the action is time consuming and potently dangerous for your camera in certain situations. It's great to have one camera with a wide angle lens and one with a zoom lens because you never know witch your going to need in a situation and you have to be able to change between the two in a heart beat.<br /><div></div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-74168229667419163102008-12-07T20:41:00.006-07:002008-12-07T21:18:10.444-07:00The book signing!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAv89cm3Dh9xD3oYKEPtYw7PlFGZnq8gbGMowVGy5F1U4qxYI3rqf2TjdnJvmiUBilsMutCETe3YaO_9xM1Rb6cy8YaXkyYi2OGfyIcStdCTIC-hnJ9BZnTQry_LiC2JrNjOJbYnBb9zg/s1600-h/IMG_0750.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277267807766136114" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAv89cm3Dh9xD3oYKEPtYw7PlFGZnq8gbGMowVGy5F1U4qxYI3rqf2TjdnJvmiUBilsMutCETe3YaO_9xM1Rb6cy8YaXkyYi2OGfyIcStdCTIC-hnJ9BZnTQry_LiC2JrNjOJbYnBb9zg/s200/IMG_0750.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbo1DjUczMnYW1mZs302QRi21hOO1y8r33fd8OdixuOTg6HNGzCOJOxXM7fTO1ToMYFLZKsYA2FCf0hJ8arZv4GrB7HRyvgD1u_kOSRpZSeDtXc0qwOXtvy1IUxvPdx8JBWDfKaoYIc3A/s1600-h/IMG_0753.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277268061858951106" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbo1DjUczMnYW1mZs302QRi21hOO1y8r33fd8OdixuOTg6HNGzCOJOxXM7fTO1ToMYFLZKsYA2FCf0hJ8arZv4GrB7HRyvgD1u_kOSRpZSeDtXc0qwOXtvy1IUxvPdx8JBWDfKaoYIc3A/s200/IMG_0753.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><div><div>Today Joanne Addison had her book signing for <a href="http://midnightwithmimi.com/index.htm">Midnight with Mimi!</a> I was so excited, you may remember me mentioning how I took the picture of her and her grandchildren for the back of the book. I did this in complete darkness with a long exposure and used flashlights with a pink gel over them for the front of the graves and a yellow gel for the back. It was scary at first to go in grave sat night, and don't worry I never went alone, but it turned out to be fun and worth it for this image!</div><div>I also figured you would like to see the images I talked about in my video, <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/17961007@N03/sets/72157608482948395/">here they are </a>and all the other images from my portfolio!</div>Simply Amy Photographyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08218388698727003550noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6440102534321199400.post-65955583161224642702008-12-02T21:47:00.002-07:002008-12-02T22:02:32.438-07:00Welcome to The Gallery at Gwinnett Tech!<p><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hJJ_F0BPQN4&hl=" width="425" height="344" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" fs="1" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></p><p>This is a video I did to tell you a little bit about my photography work and have a little fun. I especially made it for friends and family who can not travel to see my work currently on display at Gwinnett tech. It's a little cheesy but hey I like cheese. A special thanks to my videographers, <a href="http://sammikatephotography.blogspot.com/">Sammi Kate</a>, <a href="http://www.monterycheddar.blogspot.com/">Justin Nesbit</a> and Joshua Bohn!
